Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural discussions regarding various Azure services, making well-informed decisions.
- Design application security solutions to ensure a secure cloud environment.
- Contribute to application mapping and optimization initiatives.
- Analyze various Azure services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and standalone offerings.
- Evaluate cloud migration strategies, including lift-and-shift versus PaaS solutions, and participate in migration projects.
- Manage Azure software-defined networking.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Azure architecture documentation.
- Administer Windows Server environments.
- Patch virtual machines across the entire tenant.
- Implement and oversee Azure and Entra ID security measures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align Azure solutions with business requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Azure technologies.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on Azure best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with the Azure cloud platform.
- Proficiency in Azure IaaS services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks.
- Strong understanding of traditional TCP/IP networking and experience with Azure software-defined networking, including network security groups, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, load balancers, Application Gateways, and Azure Front Door.
- Experience with one or more Azure PaaS compute offerings, such as App Services, AKS, or other Azure container services.
- Familiarity with Entra ID and related identity concepts, including conditional access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and application registrations.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Azure Bicep.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD practices, including Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
- Proficient in SQL Server and/or open-source databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of Azure Policy.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients.
Preferred:
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with landing zones.
- Experience with other major cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
