Technical Business Analyst (Contract)
US Citizenship/GC needed

Our customer is looking for a Technical Business/Systems Analyst to support requirements gathering, documentation, and backlog management for both internal development projects and pilots. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in business and technical analysis, particularly in data-driven environments. This role requires close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders to identify, document, and refine system requirements while ensuring seamless communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to capture, document, and refine business and technical requirements
  • Create epics, user stories, process flows, and system diagrams
  • Work with APIs, integrations, and system workflows to understand business processes
  • Interpret SQL queries to support requirements validation
  • Define and document system requirements, data dependencies, and functional specifications
  • Analyze database structures and data flows to ensure alignment with business needs
  • Work directly with business users, operations, and IT teams to understand system behavior and pain points
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to facilitate alignment
  • Support the prioritization of backlog items based on business needs
  • Track requirements and maintain documentation within JIRA


Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Experience as a Technical Business Analyst/Systems Analyst
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to read and interpret queries
  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations
  • Familiarity with JIRA for requirements tracking and backlog management
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with QuickBase, Smartsheet, or other low-code platforms
  • Some exposure to.NET, and/or cloud-based solutions (not required but helpful)
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Agile methodologies


Location

  • 100% Remote w/ the potential for some meetings in Philadelphia HQ
  • Must have the ability to work EST hours
