We are currently seeking a skilled Epic Cogito Applications Manager for a fantastic Health System client. The Manager of Epic Cogito Applications is responsible for the overall success of analytics within the Epic environment and for coordinating analytics tasks across all Epic applications.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Experience within a healthcare environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as R, SAS, Python, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft BI stack, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, or Crystal Reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Expertise in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent technical and non-technical oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of solving both business and technical problems.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across teams to understand quality and performance improvement agendas and corresponding data and analytics needs, recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
  • Identify internal and external data sources to establish data pipelines and work with product owners to efficiently retrieve data.
  • Develop new data models and implement tables and supporting objects in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) database.
  • Assist with populating, automating, and maintaining metadata to facilitate good data governance practices.
  • Develop solutions to monitor EDW usage and performance, and address any emerging issues.
  • Investigate performance issues with queries and ETL processes, initiating solutions to optimize database speed and efficiency.
  • Provide support to data analysts for complex problems using advanced SQL methods and innovative data visualization techniques.
  • Develop and conduct end-user training for the EDW and its applications.
  • Contribute to the definition, review, and adherence to the EDW team's guiding principles related to architecture, design, development, support processes, and customer interaction.
  • Interface with other IT teams to ensure the EDW environments are up to date, backed up, and scalable for future growth.

  • Exercise independent judgment in making decisions from diverse alternatives, with general review only in final stages.


Working Relationships:

  • Direct supervision of others.
  • Interaction with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face-to-face.
  • Frequent engagement with individuals at the Director level and above.

Certifications:

  • Cogito, Caboodle, Clarity (Ideally in a large health system)
